4th of July

This is Plymouth's 4th of July parade. This float was an ad for some ghost tours or something. There were other ads for politicians, including John Kerry, several of whom walked in the parade and shook hands. It seems that, these days, sadly, in the birthplace of our nation, it's not so much about the independence as it is the advertising dollars.

And it was never about the spelling.

The girl near the right edge of the frame has a chicken on her head.

We put on a pretty wild show with some sparklers, but the real show came later, when we had the special opportunity to blow up a firework that Trevor's dad found on a job site. It occurred to me at the last minute to catch the end of the display on camera:

All in all, a great celebration of one of my three favorite holidays.
